About our quilting fabrics ~ Since Bernina is a favorite machine for quilters and now with Bernina’s Stitch Regulator being many quilter’s favorite toy, it would be foolish of a Bernina dealer to not cater to the quilter. Also, there are a lot of new sewers that want to learn how to quilt. For these reasons and to be more of a “one stop shop” we have begun to carry a much wider range of quilting fabrics at the store. Most of our fabrics come from Moda because the fabrics are fantastic, they provide a lot of cuts such as: Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, Fat Quarters, Layer Cakes, Turnovers and the newest Honey Buns. These cuts allow a small store to carry a large selection of fabrics without investing a small fortune. Also, Moda is one of the most innovative companies in how they market their fabrics both in projects and on their website. Finally, there is a great sales rep that comes to the store and helps us pick out some of the best fabrics for the shop. While The Sewing Store will never be The Quilting Store, both inexperienced and veteran quilters are sure to find something in the store that is new and exciting to add to their stash. |

Moda Scapes is a new line of fabric that is great for the quilter who also likes to appliqué. The line includes a large selection of fabrics perfect for a landscape quilt. Holly Taylor Classics you might have seen before. This line of fabrics are the “best of” fabrics she has done in the past. If you have some items made out of her fabrics, you might want to revisit some of your old favorites. You might even want to refresh an old, well loved quilt. Charm packs are available as well as the three fabrics that are shown. |

Puzzle Pieces is the name of the collection that these three pink fabrics come from. The entire line of fabrics include the entire spectrum of the color wheel. We chose these pretty pinks to match with some of the other girly fabrics that are in the store. We have fat quarters of all of the colors in the line. |

Northwoods Botanicals is the latest collection from Holly Taylor for Moda fabrics. The line is a typical line from Holly Taylor with pine cones, pine boughs, leaves, small plaids, mottled solids and even paisleys. The colorways are natural, tan, red, green and black. It could be used as a holiday fabric, but it seems to be just typical rustic prints that we have come to love from Holly Taylor. This line would appeal to men. We have in three bolts of fabrics (as depicted to the right) and the always popular 5” charm squares. These fabrics can be matched with the Classics from Holly Taylor that I have in as well. |

Christmas Magic is Kathy Schmitz’s Christmas collection for 2010. The collection includes all of the traditional colors that you can expect for the holidays and also includes this charming panel. In the store you will find the three fabrics pictured to the right, as well as, fat quarters of the entire line. We also have a very limited supply of the panel that is also shown to the right. The panel size is approximately 24” x 45”. Hurry in for the best selection. Consider using the fabrics with the black background to make a nice winter bag. Fat Quarters Available |
